Scare yourself thinking thoss like oh Jay, how he used the glove. If I had did it with a double back to make sure of Love wasn't there anymore. Leave my keys by the dog. It's kind of why? So if you are eligible to vote, please go ahead and vote. Does not matter what part of you affiliated with, whether you're Democrat, Republican or Independent. If you want things to be the way you feel they should be, the best way to have your voice heard is to vote now. As I spoke earlier in regards to craft beer, that's something that I'm very passionate about and I don't know why it's just something, because I think a lot of us get pigeon holed into certain things of what we should be drinking or what we should be eating. Right we have been bombarded by marketing for certain products, things like Heineken, things like Hennessey, then things like remy right at every person, if you go into a hip hop influence environment, everyone's drinking those and and I have nothing against any of those and those are all actually pretty decent quality beverages. But there's so much more out there and there's a lot of things that are actually a lot better tasting than those products. But because we have been told that that's what the culture drinks, that's what you drink,...

...and I've always been a person who said against that. I think that you should be able to experience some better things out there that may even be, you know, priced more reasonably and allow of these products that are available actually help your community and your living scroudings. So that's why I went to the fresh fest a couple of years back to talk to Garrett Oliver in regards to craft beer, and he told me all about how he got involved into a now he's trying to push the narrative for the culture and regards to craft there also. I thought that was fantastic. There's another person. He calls himself the black bearded nerd. He's doing the same thing and he happened to be at a festival and buffalo that I went to as well to film, actually to record for a different show, and I had a chance to talk to him. I thought what he had to say was very, very informative. So I want to play that interview for you with the black beard and Nert. I think you're going to be surprised and educated, I think, and learn some new things later on the future. I think I'm going to play more of Gara Oliver's interview as well. If you want to check out on Youtube. I think I have posted a portion of it, but it isn't really get in doesn't really get into the the cultural information regards to beer. It is more just about craft beer itself. So if you want to just check out a flick, it's called it's just beer, or is it? That's on Youtube right now. That just kind of gives you a glimpse into what the world of craft beer is. But I'm going to play more from Garrett Oliver in regards to actual education in regards to African American influence into the beer environment and also how how it's a growing thing that you should want to be involved with, and this is the time like to mention I want to hear from you. Are you a person who has had more than your typical budwiser's or whatever the you know, the generic beer of today is, or are you a person who just goes with the trends, like you do the Heinekens and the Remi's and the Hennessy's, and that's pretty much all you do? You know at want to know, I want to I just want to get a thought process out there. And also that question I would ask you is, are you willing to branch out? Are you willing to try other things? Are you, as your pellet, just so used to Henny and remy and Heineken and Modello and whatever else that you drink? Is that all you can stomach, or are you? Are you willing to branch out? Hit me up on the email. My email is Matt Wilson at inside the margins RADIOCOM. It's Matt Wilson Inside the margins RADIOCOM. Or you're going to send me a shout, follow and follow me on Instagram or twitter at Radio Matt Wilson. Let me know your thoughts. I'm just curious to know what people who are of color or women too, because it's also as a as the same truth with women. A lot of women, even though they are getting more involved craftier now, they're still as quite a deal of women who...

...really aren't don't want to touch that. They said they're they're drinking the seltzers is like that, which is cool. SELTERS are good at alternative localorie, alternative to beer, but still, just just curious. I want to hear what your thoughts are. All right, we're going to go ahead take a break, play a little music for you and when we come back we will play the interview with the black bearded nerd. This is go bought back. We got another one. Don't test me patient. Yes, that's your front doorway and Gretsky hockey steak masking gloves. Oh, let's see, you really won't really welcome back to inside the margins. All right, so, as promised, here is the interview that I had with the black bearded nerd. Now you can follow him. By the way, his real name is Ronaldo Haines, Ronaldo Haynes, also known as the black bearded nerd. You can follow him on Instagram at black like underscore, bearded, and bearded is spelled Bee r deed, underscoord Nerd, and that's black underscore bearded, bee urdd underscore nerd. Follow him on Instagram. You can see his post. He does reviews of beer and everything like that as well, and he was a fantastic person to talk to you and they get to know and I hope in the future that we can actually sit down and and spend some quality time and kind of discussing sample some things together, but this is our interview. We talked once again. We were at the The New York State Craft brewers festival in Buffalo. The New York State Craft Brewers Association puts on festivals all across New York State. Next one coming upon believes in Syracuse,...

...and after that they're going to be in Albany, but they're all over New York state. This one happened to be in Buffalo. Was a fantastic festival. is a fantastic way to meet a lot of the brewers that I enjoy who make the procs that I drink. Get to meet them and see how they make that. But I bumped into him. He was a great person to talk to me. So here he is. It's the black bearded nerd. I'm excited to talk to a brother right here. I've been following this guy for a minute because I think black influence the craft is a very important so I'm here with the black bitter nerry. What's going on, brother? I'm telling brother, how you feeling? I'm doing well, I'm doing all that. Let me ask you. I have to ask you this because everyone enters the craft beer aroum very differently. What got you interested in craft beer? I'm keeping one hunting with you. I grew up drinking beer and I figured, you know what, they got all these different beers out here. Why would I stick to drink at Corona's court forty five s ohe you know, I'm saying, why not branch out and do my thing? That's what got me into it. So when did you first aside that? Listen, I'm you know, for me, for example, listen, I was sitting there drinking like a Labat blue or something like that, you know what I mean. And I met a friend of mine. He was from Europe, and he gave me a Guinness. That was like a kind of my first cross into something either. Yeah, right, exactly, exactly, correct, right, right, and I was like, I don't know about this, but then he kind of, you kind of put me around. I turned half of Watsons, I try loggers, Drestt House, I try a bunch of stuff, you know, and I got into it. How would you what was the beer that got you into that field? I'm keeping on hunting. Great Lakes Elian Nest. It said lager. I tried everything else prior to that, like, you know again, Coronas, modelos, etc. And something about that drew me in. Once I try that, I realize, you know what, it got to be something else out there besides just this bs who was marketed to drink. So I'm yeah, now let me ask you a question because I like to ask any any black person who's involved with craft beer. Why do you think now let's be getting the tick off off. It's beginning to tick off in the African American community, but why is it not ticking off in the black room as much point of Reference Marketing, and I'm a point of reference, just like I said to the brother earlier. I grew up listening or watching my father, my uncle's, the brothers in my community drinking oe, Ding forty five, drinking say not its. So we didn't have the point of reference of Miller high life. Yeah, once in a blue Mike, but we didn't understand there was a reference or or level of what was what. Now we still are stuck in the same time frame where whenever is the cheapest, you're buy it. We don't understand. We buy for quality. The same thing with Henny. Henny is a good liquor, but there's a whole lot of other cognacts that are much better than that. So our point of reference keeps us in a box.

And as black men and women, we are trained or program to drink what we see. So if you are a white man, white woman, you're going to drink everything under the sun because your mother, your father, your grandfather would tell you this is what we drink here, this is what we do. I didn't have that reference. I got introduced by some some Dominican brothers I knew. I knew a couple white people, because again, if we're going to get introduced, it's going to be somebody else to put us up to me, I'm just keeping a hunt it. So that was my point of reference. Excellent. So if you're talking to a brother who is perhaps shy or scared to kind of branch out, because you know, and let's be real, I'm not keeping his reels, I can keep it. When you talk to most brothers, you talk to people who are like heimekens. Right, it's like the people you're like remy. Look at someone's drinking like I like you said, honey, these are the kind of like the staple drinks in our community, right. How do you convince someone to branch out out of that? Again, as black men and women, we're not a monolith. We are one as a people, but we represent different adversity. WHO's that? represent a lot of different facets, and the biggest thing would be is, first of all, we created beer. If you do your history, do your research, we created beer and might not have been carbonated when we did it, but we did that. So why not enjoy what we created, the fruits of our Labor? Why not branch out and try something a little bit different, because again, we are not a monolith. We try everything. We are the culture, whether it's beer, fashion, music. We are the culture period west. Think it's very well said. So do you think festivals like this? Now, granted, we talked off much before about another fussil that I went to you and I know you. You you want to maybe in the past, to do the fresh festival, which was a more ECLECTIC, more it smell like a block party, more, you know I'm saying, look like more black wear than the fustible. Do you think these are the kind of events, though, that would draw more attention to what else is out there, with the possibilities are when it comes to like crafting and brewing beer? Yes, I agree with you, but I think that we need to market to ourselves as the community. We need to put more education on what and what is involved in beer. What are the tasting notes? What are the knows that you smell? We need to educate each other on it, because if we don't understand that knowledge, the basic knowledge of it, then we won't participate in it. and to me, I got put on by somebody else but myself. I'm a very educated person, I'm very cultural, so I was interested in it. So we have to branch out, we have to speak our truth when we have to be a little bit more diverse and make sure that we are included, because without us there is no culture, without us there is no beer,...

...because when they make these beers, they do the cultural appropriation, whether it be outcast, whether it be wooting, whether it be something using with Bub wise or when Nellie. We have to represent ourselves and speak for each other, because we don't, we get laws. So we getting taken over. That's just what it is. Now another question. You get deep, and I appreciate this. Now you look at the moult liquors of the past, right, you're saying eyes your you were to say that's commercial. Right, you know what it is. Now these still aren't really necessary to the craft beer. So it's more still more of a mult liquor type, big industry type thing. But that we that we tried to help advertise right, as you know, with craft beer is independent, it's it's home brewed, as people that started in a garage somewhere that made their own product. That it's like to sell it. So there's a lot of money to be made in this industry. Right. There's something something that's interesting and you can. Let you do this yourself. How do we get people out of the industrialize mindset of beer and into the independence of beer? Good answer, and I'm keep a real short and simple equity. We are not involved in the equity aspect. We are more involved with excuse me, what's popping? Was Popping Right now? If we're understand the value in the dollar, because we are used by the white brothers, the white sisters, who are allies, but they utilize us for what we bring to the culture. Right. So we're understand that there's more than just us. On the face of it, we would understand the value of everything, just like anything, whether it be tick tock, whether it be facebook, instagram. We are the culture period. So we have to understand our value as a people. Once we had to send our varying as and our potential as a as a community in our worth. It allows us to expand, be on our wildest dreams, just like I answers to suspect it. That's fantastic. said. Now let's let's get us get more light. Hi, what's your favorite cut with and your Palette and your pellet? What is your favorite kind of beer? I'm a keeping a hunted and keeping a hunting like always. Do. Give Me Belgians all day. I love stouts, but give me bellies. I'm talking about Chimais, I'm talking about trap beast, I'm talking about Du Val's P rots. Give me that. That's just me. And second will be stouts, verily specifically. All right, all right, I find a question. I'm as you warmer, question of the question. Brother, if you were to have just one beer, that's the last one you could have for ust of your life. That's wait, you dos cover. Wait, what beer would it be? Trap Peace Rolls for a number ten. That is a Belgian brewed by monks in a monastery over in Belgium. If you don't know, now you know. Look it up. Go get it, my brother, is a pleasure like a beer. Black bearded NERD, how can they follow you, man? You follow me on IG Black bearded bee urded nerd, and...

...follow me on Youtube. I do reviews weekly. I'll talk about my view, my perspective as us as a people, and I give it to you raw, uncut. There is no filter. It's I don't know if I can cursonal here, but I don't give a fuck about what somebody thinks. I'm tell you how I feel. That's what it is. I appreciate anyone who is for the culture doing this for the culture. Again, this is something we get more people are Craft Beers real you can make money in this industry and we need to Margat us to our brothers and sisters to make this. You know I'm saying. So I appreciate you be on the show. Look you so much. Rather we got to look out for each other. We don't go for each other, who else will?
